Steps to Career Success in Retail is a career guidance project, developed in 2023 by Junior Achievement Romania with the support of Auchan Romania, which targets high school students, including those with reduced opportunities. Part of the JA Job Incubator™ program, the project aims to inspire and prepare 16+ students to succeed in the job market by helping them acquire the skills and knowledge required in a changing economy.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

To provide access to educational career guidance activities in school and exposure to different retail work environments outside of school, through interaction with Auchan Romania professionals, so that young people can develop a range of skills and competences specific to the field, useful after graduation.

In addition, the project facilitates the transition from school to the labor market through practical learning opportunities, provided with the support of the company's volunteers.

EDUCATIONAL CONTENT

• Job Shadow activities, through which students have the opportunity to observe specific retail professions as they follow in the shadow of employees, to discover real responsibilities and tasks, as well as elements of company-specific organizational culture;
• Webinars and online Q&A sessions, debates and presentations on different topics, conducted with the support and involvement of Auchan volunteers and the coordinating teachers;
• Internship opportunities, carried out over several weeks in Auchan stores, as a first contact with job market opportunities.

The Steps to Career Success in Retail project is part of JA Job Incubator™, an applied learning program for young people aged 16 and over, which gives them access to courses, hands-on experiences, webinars with professional volunteers from the business community, and internships or junior job experiences that develop career guidance skills.
